Doctor Mike Thomas at the Maxwell Practice

Dr Mike Thomas

MB BCh, DRCOG, MRCGP, PGCert Med Education

Dr Mike Thomas is a highly experienced GP who is passionate about ensuring patients are conscientiously listened to, fully understood and given plenty of opportunity to ask questions. He believes that patients and doctors should work together to achieve the best outcome and that the patient should leave the consultation with a clear understanding of their medical concern and the plan of action for the future.

Mike qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2000, where he was awarded the prize for General Practice.  He has worked in a variety of medical and surgical specialties in the UK and New Zealand. As a GP, he has worked both in the private sector and as a partner in a highly regarded NHS practice in Buckinghamshire for 16 years.

Working in the private sector has enabled Mike to spend significantly more time with patients and has also exposed him to many more treatment and investigation options than are currently available on the NHS. He is keen to hear patients’ ideas, concerns and expectations and is always keen to investigate new and upcoming medical advances and treatments.

Mike loves the variety of General Practice and is interested in every aspect of medicine, health promotion and health screening. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages from newborn babies to the very elderly and treats each person as an individual.
