GPs can help with your mental health

If you are experiencing symptoms of poor mental well-being, know that you are not alone. Every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem.

Common symptoms include:

Feeling low

Feeling overly anxious or worried

Thinking negative thoughts about yourself

Feeling irritable or moody

Finding it hard to concentrate

Lacking enjoyment and not enjoying the things you used to

Finding day to day life a struggle

Trouble sleeping

Our GPs see patients suffering with these symptoms and they are able to:

  • discuss your symptoms and help you better understand what you are going through and what support is available

  • prescribe medication if it’s appropriate

  • refer to specialist support

  • recommend lifestyle changes that could help
